Key points in brief

When you join the library you are accepting and acknowledging the charges and conditions of use of the StadtBibliothek Koeln. We request that you read these thoroughly, as the following information represents only a summary of the full conditions.

Membership	fee per year is EUR 23,50 The following reductions apply: Students between 18 and 30 years EUR 18,- Patrons with "Köln-Pass" EUR 11,50 Minors (under 18 years) free Day ticket (no lending permit) EUR 1,50 Membership for 3 months EUR 8,- replacement card EUR 3,50
There are two different loan periods:	4 weeks for books 2 weeks for DVDs, CDs, CD-ROMs, videos, cassettes, kits which include a CD, and bestsellers
Issuing and renewing	DVDs, CDs, CD-ROMs, kits which include a CD cost EUR 1,80 per item. and bestsellers cost EUR 2,- per item. Please note that an item can be renewed twice for the same period, provided it has not been reserved by another member.
Late return incurs the following charges:	EUR 1,- per item per week for books and cassettes EUR 1,- per item per day for videos, DVDs, CDs, CD-ROMs, kits which include a CD, and bestsellers. EUR 1,- for first reminder letter. EUR 1,20 for second reminder letter.
You will receive a receipt for each item you return. Please retain these receipts, and receipts for payment, for 4 months.
Please check that all items are complete before having them issued. Please have any damage confirmed and noted by a member of staff.
The StadtBibliothek Koeln makes no guarantee as to the quality of items borrowed. There are no refunds or replacements.
You can view your own account and renew items borrowed either on the library computers or on the internet. An English user surface is available.
Please notify us immediately if you loose your library card so that your account can be blocked.
Please notify us immediately if you change your address so that our records can be changed.
